Missions are one of the most vital and active aspects of the ministry of our
congregation.  we have many opportunities to share the love of Christ
through our service to missions both locally and abroad.  As an entire
congregation, we focus on four main missions continually throughout the year
– Epworth Children’s Home, John Elmore, Rafiki, and the Children’s Education
Mission in the Congo.  Additionally, the WARM Project is held in January
while Salkehatchie is supported in June.  Various organizations within our
church such as UMW, Rainbow Circle, and Sunday School classes support other
missions throughout the year.

Epworth Children’s Home provides group residential care for children and
youth from all of South Carolina.  John Elmore serves through UMVIM as a
full-time missionary in Chile where he leads an agriculture school.  Rafiki
is a ministry to several countries in Africa. They provide Christian
education to children as well as a widows’ ministry.  We support this
mission financially and by sending school supplies and other requested
items. The Children’s Education Mission in the Congo is supported in
conjunction with Martinez Baptist Church and St. John UMC in Augusta to
assist families in the Congo by providing funds for education. Our members
also eagerly support those who endeavor to go on mission trips.  A few of
our additional missions supported through the various groups in our
congregation include Operation Shoebox, Stop Hunger Now, Power Packs
(provide food for local school-age children over the weekends), Angel Tree,
care packages for deployed soldiers, the Wesley Foundation, Loose Change to
Loosen Chains (assists in ending modern day slavery) and the Fellowship of
Christian Athletes.
